Mr. Koen C. Kruijtbosch named as Managing Director to lead the company’s commitment to listen to women’s health needs and mission to bring a better and healthier life to Thai women, their families and communities.
Organon, celebrated its launch as the only global company of its size focused on women’s health at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) on 3 June 2021. Coinciding with the global launch, Organon Thailand, led by Managing Director Koen C. Kruijtbosch, has officially started its first day in the country, with the ambition to bring a better and healthier every day life for women in Thailand by listening to their healthcare needs. As part of the launch and to reiterate the company’s belief that women’s voices matter, Organon Thailand has selected Mrs. Cindy Sirinya Bishop to represent the voices of Thai women regarding women’s health through the Wall of Voices located outside the NYSE along with other female representatives from countries around the world.
Mr. Koen C. Kruijtbosch, Managing Director of Organon Thailand, said: “We believe that women are foundational to a healthier world, and that providing a healthier future for women also means providing a healthier future for their families and their communities. That is why we put women at the centre of everything we do. We will try our best to listen to women to understand their healthcare needs and deliver impactful medicines and solutions tailored for them, enabling them to live better and healthier lives every day.”
As the Organon executive leadership team rang the opening bell at the NYSE to mark Organon’s first day of active trading, to recognise the need to listen to and act on women’s experiences to address the challenges in women’s health, Organon also gathered voices from around the world to create the “Wall of Voices,” a multimedia installation outside of the NYSE sharing powerful perspectives, voices and images. Mrs. Cindy Sirinya Bishop, a well-known Thai model, activist, and UN Women Goodwill Ambassador for Asia-Pacific, was selected to represent voices of Thai women in this initiative, in which she reflected her thoughts on Thailand’s teen pregnancy and low birth rate issues.
According to Thailand’s Bureau of Reproductive Health’s 2020 report, an average of 169 Thai children are born to teenage girls aged between 15-19 years old each day, while an average of six children per day are born to girls younger than 15 years old. Apart from teenage pregnancy, low birth-rate is another major challenge, as Thailand is becoming an aging population. According to the Ministry of Public Health, the number of new-borns was lower than 600,000 in 2020, the lowest number in three years.
“With our core expertise in reproductive health, we believe that we can use our abilities to help address the teenage pregnancy and low birth-rate problems, which are two major concerns in Thai society. In addition, we will leverage our expertise to deliver medicines and solutions for other diseases and conditions women commonly face throughout their lives, such as osteoporosis – from which 1 in 5 Thai women aged 40-80 years suffer. With our strong expertise, I would like to ensure all women in Thailand that, from now on, Organon Thailand will be here to listen to your health needs and make every effort possible to deliver better solutions for your health,” Mr. Koen C. Kruijtbosch concluded.
Women everywhere are invited to take the “microphone” to add their voice to the digital “Wall of Voices” at HereForHerHealth.com.
