Siam Piwat Co., Ltd., the owner and operator of global retail destinations Siam Paragon, Siam Center, Siam Discovery and joint-venture partners of ICONSIAM and Siam Premium Outlets Bangkok, pursues its mission to support Thai people in this time of crisis and puts its best efforts into supporting those affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. This value has brought together Siam Piwat, government sectors, private organisations and entrepreneurs to assist our fellow Thais under ‘Siam Ruam Jai, Thais Help Thais’ campaign, to get Thailand through the Covid-19 crisis.
“The Covid-19 pandemic has far-reaching impacts, especially on the economy and society, leaving many struggling,” commented Mrs. Mayuree Chaipromprasith, President — Marketing and Corporate Relations, Siam Piwat Co., Ltd. “Siam Piwat, as a retail business leader, has been with Thai people for over 64 years. We have stood by Thais’ side in many crises. From the beginning of the spread of Covid-19 in early 2020 until now, we have collaborated with government and private sectors, communities and many individuals to help those affected by the pandemic. Our ‘Siam Ruam Jai, Thais Help Thais’ campaign, that covers multi-dimensional assistance, including ‘Thais Help Thais’, ‘Thais Save Thais’ and ‘Thais Shop Thais’, is a great collaboration between retail business and business alliances to boost the economy and support society at this time when our country needs a strong immune response and strength.”
‘THAIS HELP THAIS’ ENCOURAGES THAIS TO SUPPORT EACH OTHER
Siam Piwat strongly believes in achieving business sustainability through ‘Co-creation’ and ‘Creating Shared Values’. At this particular time, when the country needs immediate business recovery, Siam Piwat has initiated concrete projects under ‘Thais Help Thais’.
Siam Piwat has teamed up with its tenants at Siam Paragon, Siam Center, Siam Discovery, ICONSIAM as well as leading business organisations to support neighbouring communities. Food and supplies are handed to people in the communities affected by the pandemic. In June 2021, Siam Piwat received generous support from its tenants and business alliances to offer food and supplies to over 100,000 people at communities in need in Pathum Wan and Khlong San districts.
All through July 2021, Siam Piwat joins hands with government and private sectors to offer retail spaces for affected SMEs, entrepreneurs and farmers to sell their products and keep their businesses running. The support features:
- Market Fest to help small-size sellers.
- SMEs Fest to support SMEs and entrepreneurs.
- Food Fest to help restaurant operators to generate income.
Mental health support is also planned to treat and strengthen mental health in a time when moral supports, love and sharing are needed most.
‘THAIS SAVE THAIS’ SUPPORTS THE NATIONAL HEALTH AGENDA WITH ALTERNATIVE VACCINATION SITES FOR THE PUBLIC
Siam Piwat supports the national health mission by making its retail premises available to serve as alternative Covid-19 vaccination stations. Siam Paragon joins Bangkok Hospital, Health Department under Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) and the Thai Chamber of Commerce to offer a non-hospital city-centre vaccination site for
the public at Royal Paragon Hall, 5th Floor.
ICONSIAM also joins Siriraj Hospital, Health Department under Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) and the Thai Chamber of Commerce to offer an alternative public vaccination station at ICONSIAM Art Space, 8th Floor. Set against the stunning view of the Chao Phraya River, the site offers relaxation to both the medical personnel and vaccine recipients. The operation is under strict health and safety measures, so as to best support the medical personnel and best serve the vaccine recipients.
Siam Piwat has also created many health-support projects such as ‘Siam Ruam Jai, Together We Fight Covid-19’ to raise funds for medical supplies for Ramathibodi Foundation and Taksin Hospital Foundation. The two foundations have already received the donations. In addition, 4,000 items of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and 12,000 bottles of drinking water were given to Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) to support their medical workers.
‘THAIS SHOP THAIS’ BOOSTS THE ECONOMY AND SPENDING FOR SPEEDY BUSINESS RECOVERY
This is the time of need for immediate business and economic recovery and collaboration from every sector is key. As such, this is the time for Thais to support our fellow Thais through purchasing and supporting Thai products, so that, together with Thai entrepreneurs, we can all boost the economy.
For over 5,000 entrepreneurs, tenants and business alliances of Siam Piwat, the company has reduced rental and other fees. Siam Piwat also joins Krungthai Bank to offer access to special soft loan plans to improve their liquidity and thereby ensure that they have proper support to get through the crisis.
For SMEs, suppliers, communities and farmers, SookSiam at ICONSIAM has joined the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives to offer soft loans to help them recover, improve liquidity, and increase capital, as needed to get through the crisis and run their business after the recovery. We will stand by them and do our best to support them.
Moreover, Siam Piwat is planning to launch an economic activity boosting campaign involving supporting entrepreneurs, called ‘Thais Shop Thais’. The campaign aims at generating income for those affected. Thais can play important roles in helping their fellow Thais by spending and supporting their products and services. The spending will not only generate income but will also create jobs and boost liquidity, thereby driving the whole economy forward.
Siam Paragon, Siam Center, Siam Discovery and ICONSIAM will hold a special campaign with over 5,000 brands on offer in June and July 2021. This will boost spending and help generate income for entrepreneurs. Benefits also go to consumers as they can purchase at value prices.
“Siam Ruam Jai, Thais Help Thais is a great collaboration of Thais,” concluded Mrs. Mayuree Chaipromprasith. “We need cooperation and support from Thai people and every sector to together help those affected by Covid-19. This, in turn, will bring supporters happiness and an uplifting sense of lending a helping hand and making a contribution. It’s all about generating positive energy and doing valuable deeds to overcome the crisis and drive our country forward, so that Thailand will be strong again.”
