As an ongoing activity to raise the standards of local food service to promote the Andaman region as a world-class tourist destination, Ms Mukda Limnukul, Director of the Strategy Division of Community Development Department, officiated the opening of “Locals Check-in to Phuket”, a bilingual food training course in English and Thai.
An expert teacher shared and enlightened on English lessons alongside a One Day Road Trip to five village communities to check-in with locals. Besides sharing essential knowledge and skills, the teach-er guided each community on using the right English terms when speaking with visiting tourists.
As more international arrivals to Phuket are anticipated in coming months, this will greatly assist par-ticipating communities in welcoming tourists and recommending places to visit.
The two day training program took place 3-4 November at Pearl Hotel Phuket.
