
The Office of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (Office of the NBTC) hosted a Bilateral Meeting with Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) United Arab Emirates, in a virtual format on 24th February 2022, as to share relevant regulatory issues and to promote the development of telecommunication industry and digital transformation of both countries.
The honorable General Sukit Khamasundara, Commissioner Acting Chairman of the NBTC, presided over an opening ceremony and delivered Welcoming remarks followed by a Reciprocal remark from H.E. Engineer Majed Sultan Al Mesmar, Director General of TDRA and head of the United Arab Emirates delegation.
Mr. Trairat Viriyasirikul, Deputy Secretary General Acting Secretary General, Office of the NBTC, was assigned to be the chair of this meeting and head of Thai delegation. Also present were other executives from both sides.
The objectives of the meeting were to establish relationship and to initiate a fruitful collaboration between the two authorities. The meeting mainly focused on an exchange of knowledge, experience and information to update on the regulatory framework for advanced technology and digital transformation in order to accomplish and to conclude a way forward on social and economic revolution in the digital era. Office of the NBTC shared experiences on Digital Transformation through Mobile Digital ID, 5G development and uses cases in Thailand by Mr. Notachard Chintakanond, Executive Director of International Affairs Bureau, Office of the NBTC. Consequently, TDRA shared their experiences on Digital Transformation and supported for the development of the UAE's Digital Government by Mr. Mohammed Al Ramsi, Executive Director of Regulatory Affairs Department, TDRA.
Office of the NBTC aims to develop cooperation between the two authorities where it will strengthen partnership and exchange lesson learned as to support innovation that will enhance better life for social and economic growth for the citizen of both countries.
