Flying high after the crisis. Themed “Global Network Global Opportunities”, High Flyer Asia, Asia’s leading community for CEOs and Founders looking to grow globally, successfully organised (by far) its biggest party of the year – “The Greatest Generation Party – Celebrating the House of High Flyers 2022” at the prestigious EQ Hotel Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 31 March 2022.
“As Malaysia reopens its international borders and moves into the endemic phase beginning 1 April 2022, we think this party comes in time to celebrate such a significant moment. After more than two years of disruptions and challenges due to the pandemic, this is a huge step, not only for all of us but for our nation and our world as a whole,” said Steve Wee, the Founder of High Flyer Asia.
The Greatest Generation Party has gathered some crème de la crème high flying entrepreneurs from across Asia, including Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Thailand, to name a few.
Honorary guests gracing the party included Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, H.E. Mr. Chainarong Keratiyutwong and YM Tengku Dato Hishammuddin Zaizi bin YAM Tengku Azman Shah Alhaj Royal Household of Selangor.
Also present at the party was Datin Winnie Loo, President of Branding Association of Malaysia, Founder of A Cut Above and also the Master Mentor for High Flyers in the house. Loo opened the night by delivering a short, sweet and powerful speech.
This was followed by a speech by Mr. Jakkapan Rattanapat, CEO of WRS Group, Thailand and Dato Lye, the Honorary Advisor of High Flyer Asia .
Every high flyer in the house was amazing in his/her own way with inspiring story to tell, and so the party also saw some prominent high flyers sharing their stories, experiences and knowledge with their fellow high flyers in the house. The sharing sessions were done in talk show style for better interactions between the panel and audience.
Another highlight of the party was a trilogy performed by Gena Sim, a professional Malaysian singer. Sim entertained the guests with her beautiful vocal performance of three songs meticulously selected by Wee, which in sync with the theme of the party, namely “If Love is Gone”, “Courage” and “A Whole New World”.
In his finale speech, Wee shared that as he recalls the journey all these years, he is overwhelmed with mixed feelings, “Like any other businesses, it’s never smooth sailing for High Flyer Asia, especially in the phase of the pandemic; but I’m a person who doesn’t give up easily, and I believe what doesn’t kill us makes us stronger. When the gloomy season is over, when the grey sky is cleared, here we are, it’s time for us to fly high, once again.”
“No matter we are up high on the mountains or down low in the valleys, it’s important to hold on to the values of gratitude and humility, I believe these fine attitudes will carry us far in our journey to success,” Wee said.
Talking about what’s next after the Greatest Generation Party, Wee couldn’t hold back his excitement as he shared about the plans High Flyer Asia has in its pipeline. “We are always eyeing globalisation indefinitely. This year, with the reopening of various economic sectors, we are indeed positive about tapping into wider global networking and global opportunities,” Wee said.
Wee also shared that Bangkok will be his focus for this year. HFA 100, MOVIEWORLD, global networking in 17 cities where High Flyer Asia has its presence, are also among the highlights, together with other projects planned for 2022.
As The Greatest Generation Party drew to a prefect closure on a high note, Wee and all the high flyers in the house are looking forward to greater, wider and higher global networking opportunities beyond the Malaysian shore.
