There is also a reliable system for assessing and monitoring the value of biodiversity as well as enhancing the engagement of the community and all stakeholders from all sectors and by supporting financial mechanisms and scientific management and international cooperation to help Thailand achieve its goal of protecting at least 30% of its land and sea areas by 2030.” As a member of the Global Compact Network Thailand (GCNT) together with 110+ leading organisations nationwide at “2022 GCNT Forum: Accelerating Business Solutions to Tackle Climate & Biodiversity Challenges” organised by GCNT in collaboration with the United Nations Thailand at the United Nations Convention Center, Ratchadamnoen Nok, Bangkok.
The objective is to show the power of business members in accelerating measures to cope with the global warming crisis and biodiversity challenges. Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha honoured the event as chairman along with Mr Varawut Silpa-archa, Natural Resources and Environment Minister, Mr Suphachai Chearavanont, President of the Global Compact Network Association of Thailand, Ms Gita Sabharwal, United Nations Resident Coordinator in Thailand, and Ms Ruenvadee Suwanmongkol, Secretary-General, The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Thailand.
