Bitkub Labs Co., Ltd., also known as Bitkub Academy, a figure specializing in knowledge provisions indigital assets and blockchain technology, in collaboration with EMURGO Cardano and Cardano, companies behind the world-famous Cardano blockchain network and ADA coin, hosted the inaugural “BizPitch: Business Pitching Competition” under the theme “Building Businesses One Idea at a Time” during March 28-31, 2023, at the FYI Center Building.
A total of 30 people were selected for training and competition during the four days. All participants attended a special lecture on “Web 3.0 Marketing” by Mr. Nathaniel Acton, Vice President of Marketing, EMURGO Cardano. The lecture focused on the essential elements of adapting a marketing plan in the Web 3.0 era. The participants also attended a lecture on “How to Prepare a Good Pitch” by Mr. Chusilp Matheechaiyaphong, Director, Bitkub Labs Co., Ltd. which focused on good business model structure, idea organisation for presentation, and appropriate tone and posture.
After hearing the theories, the participants were divided into five teams of six people each to brainstorm ideas with supervision by Bitkub Academy experts. A panel of experts from Bitkub Academy, EMURGO Cardano, and Cardano judged the business model competition.
The first prize was awarded to the Block Cracker team who proposed a business model to prevent fraud in the purchase of pirated brand-name products. The business model proposed applying the Cardano blockchain to create transparency and accountability, coupled with NFT technology to verify whether the products are licensed by the brand.
The first runner-up was the Ticker team who presented a business model to apply the Cardano blockchain to the movie ticket business to verify ticket holder rights and prevent sales by ticket touts. The team also designed an application that allows buyers to purchase legal tickets more conveniently.
The second runner-up was the Solved team, applying the Cardano blockchain to decentralise tourism which has relatively high centralisation that causes users to bear more expenses. Solved’s solution results in lower booking costs.
The three winners received prizes worth over 100,000 baht contributed by Bitkub Academy, EMURGO Cardano, and Cardano.

Therefore, we jointly organised the first BizPitch: Business Pitching Competition to open up a space and give students the opportunity to freely present business model ideas, learn about blockchain technology and digital assets, plan professional presentations directly from experts, and apply the knowledge going forward.”
