The China International School (Thailand) celebrated its official school opening ceremony on August 17, 2023, under the guidance of Dr. Qi Bin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of China International School (Thailand). Positioned as a pivotal link between Thai-Chinese cultural exchanges, the school stands as the country's pioneer modern international school to adopt the Chinese curriculum.
Offering comprehensive international Chinese language education programs across elementary, middle, and high school levels, the institution employs teaching materials sourced from China. The primary mode of instruction is in Chinese, supplemented by English and Thai, with the overarching goal of imparting students with fundamental knowledge of language, culture, and academia in China. With this approach, students are afforded the opportunity to receive an education equivalent to studying in China without the need to travel abroad.
The school is distinguished by the introduction of Thailand's inaugural "Qilu Cultural Centre," an encompassing platform for advanced Chinese culture learning systems and diverse interest-based courses. These courses are adeptly taught by a cadre of experienced instructors, predominantly hailing from China.
In his address, Prof. Dr. Krasae Chanawongse, President of Krirk University, emphasised the enduring strength of Thailand-China relations and their deep-rooted cultural exchange. He regarded the launch of China International School (Thailand), equipped with the Chinese language curriculum as its educational cornerstone, as a timely initiative. The institution signifies a novel endeavour in Chinese language education within Thailand, not only endowing students with a high-calibre Chinese education but also fostering an international perspective and competitiveness, thus laying a robust foundation for future growth.
He voiced his optimism, stating, "It is our aspiration that China International School (Thailand) evolves into an exemplary platform for Chinese language curriculum instruction in Thai society."
On this occasion, Mr. Qi Xiaoyun and Mr. Chen Yulong generously contributed to support the educational and pedagogical advancement of China International School (Thailand) in the years ahead.
The inauguration ceremony also included the "Silk Road Youth Cultural Exchange between China and Thailand," a collaborative endeavour involving teachers and students from the China International Schools and Dalian University's Faculty of Fine Arts. This engaging event encompassed various cultural forms such as singing, playing, and dancing. Notably, a significant collaboration was solidified between China International School (Thailand) and The Confucius Institute at Chiang Mai University, aimed at facilitating students in the Chinese language proficiency test (HSK). The entire event was broadcast nationwide, reaching a broad audience.
