Excessive food consumption can lead to various health issues, including cancer, diabetes, and high blood pressure. Changing our approach to food production and consumption by embracing sustainability, such as plant-based diets and organic food, can effectively improve health and combat climate change. The SX Food Festival at the Sustainability Expo 2023 (SX 2023) is the perfect event to learn about sustainable eating and kickstart your journey towards a healthier and more eco-conscious lifestyle.

Spanning over 10,000 square metres at Hall 5-6 on the LG floor of the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC) from 29 September to 8 October 2023, the SX Food Festival is a culinary haven where more than 120 restaurants and renowned street food vendors serve up delicious delights. The theme, “Thai Street Food Museum,” transports visitors to iconic contemporary landmarks in Bangkok, Phuket Old Town, and other significant Thai cities, all within one location.

Esteemed celebrity chefs, including Chef Natawoot “Off” Thammaphan, Chef Pruek Sumpantaworaboot, Chef Arttasit “Big” Pattanasatienkul, Chef Natnicha “Ploy” Boonlerd, Chef Paweenuch “Kaew” Yodpreechawijit, and many more, are on hand to demonstrate healthy cooking techniques and innovative ways to utilise leftovers, reducing food waste while serving delectable dishes in line with the concept of Zero-Waste Cooking.

Additionally, enjoy consultations and networking opportunities courtesy of SPACE-F, Thailand’s pioneering food technology startup incubator and growth programme. The festival also features barista robot demonstrations and interactive games designed to enhance understanding of food waste.

The festival showcases innovations in food and beverage production, processing, and preparation from both government and private sectors. These innovations include closed-system vertical vegetable greenhouses using artificial sunlight, innovative coconut processing products, waste management and disposal processes in dairy cow farms, sugarcane drip irrigation systems, and more.

The event hosts a Food Waste Station where visitors can learn how to separate waste for recycling, and there’s even a machine that converts food waste into bio-fertilizer. Knowledgeable staff are available to provide guidance on waste separation.
