Platinum Fashion Mall Expects Improved Performance in 2024

Platinum Fashion Mall's business performance in 2024 is projected to improve significantly. In 2023, overall traffic saw a more than 65% increase in the number of customers, both Thai and foreign, compared to 2022. It is anticipated that traffic will increase by another 20% in 2024, with continued support from the tourism sector. As a result, products and services targeting foreign tourists will expand, and more shops will rent space in Platinum Fashion Mall.

In the first quarter of 2024, the average occupancy rate for retail space was 96%, not including Zone 3 on the 5th floor, which is currently being renovated. Platinum Fashion Mall is also set to unveil a new project, "SAWASDEE FOODIE HUB," located in Zone 3 on the 5th floor. This project, under the concept of "floating market, temple fair, and charming Thai food," will feature various popular Thai food and beverage shops across an area of more than 1,700 sqm, consisting of approximately 100 shops, such as Mango Siam, Punpang Patong Go, Thai Slurpee, Pungsiam B.E. 2515, and Kuang Heng Pratunam Chicken Rice. It is planned to open in the third quarter of 2024, catering to the limitless shopping and dining lifestyles of customers. This new space aims to enhance the dining experience with charming Thai flavours, fulfilling the needs of customers in various zones of the shopping mall and providing access to food and beverage options for customers to shop, relax, and dine for longer periods. This new zone will complement the existing Platinum food floor, MORE a MEAL, a centre for a variety of Thai and international food from more than 100 famous restaurants across 5,700 sqm in Zones 1 and 2 on the 6th floor, which currently receive positive feedback from customers.

Regarding other businesses under The Platinum Group Public Company Limited, The Market Bangkok is undergoing rebranding to present a new concept and will gradually open on the G and M floors in the fourth quarter of 2024. The new concept is expected to be fully launched by 2025. The activity area continues to attract interest from tenants for various events, such as the Big Bad Wolf international book fair and the Moppet Brandname sale fair.

At the beginning of 2024, the company opened Phase 2 of The Market Bangkok building, namely Moxy Bangkok Ratchaprasong, featuring 504 rooms under the management of Marriott Group. On 19 April 2024, The Platinum Group Public Company Limited received approval from the general meeting of shareholders to accept the transfer of long-term land lease rights and the project development of Chalermlarp land, with a total investment of 7,884,382,032 baht. Chalermlarp land is located in the Pratunam area, one of Bangkok’s most important business districts, where the future Orange Line sky train (from Taling Chan to Thailand Cultural Centre) will be located. The company plans to develop a shopping centre and hotel on this land, believing it will increase the company's income and enhance its potential in business operations going forward.
