On July 19-20, 2024, Associate Professor Dr. Komson Maleesee, President of King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL), along with Associate Professor Dr. Somyot Kiatiwanitchvilai, Dean of the School of Engineering, met with executives and researchers from Chang Gung University (CGU) and Ming Chi University of Technology. The purpose was to conduct research at CGU and establish academic cooperation with Taiwanese universities, aiming to position KMITL as a centre for reskilling and upskilling in Smart Electronics.
Dr. Komson also discussed with the management and personnel of the Academy of Innovative Semiconductor and Sustainable Manufacturing (AISSM) Centre at National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), a leading university in Taiwan. They deliberated on establishing the KMITL Academy of Innovative Semiconductor Manufacturing (KAISM) in Chachoengsao Province, within the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC). This initiative aims to develop a curriculum tailored to the future needs of the global semiconductor and smart electronics industries, fostering Global Citizen Skills for self-development.
Dr. Komson stated that the collaboration with NCKU is crucial for driving the Smart Electronics curriculum, essential for economic and industrial development globally. Both institutions will focus on designing courses that develop skills and knowledge in Smart Electronics and Semiconductor fields. This partnership offers Thai students access to world-class expertise, practical experience, and internships in the industrial sector, aligning their career paths with Thailand's economic development.
