Mahidol University International College (MUIC), the first institution in Thailand to offer international programs, achieved a significant milestone with the successful organisation of the Accreditation Showcase on September 27, 2024. This event, held at MUIC’s Aditayathorn Building, celebrated the college’s accreditation by prestigious global educational organisations.
Not only does this event reinforce MUIC's international reputation and its 38-year legacy as a leader in international education in Thailand, but it also highlights MUIC’s ongoing commitment to elevating the quality of education, fostering innovation, and ensuring continuous development.
These accreditations from top global organisations serve as a testament to the quality, standards, and international recognition of MUIC's educational programs, which have been acknowledged by numerous prestigious institutions worldwide, including:
- AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business)
- AUN-QA (ASEAN University Network Quality Assurance)
- UN Tourism.TedQual (Tourism Education Quality)
- NEAS (National ELT Accreditation Scheme)
- ACS (American Chemical Society)
- CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst Institute Affiliation Program)

Prof. Chulathida Chomchai, M.D., Dean of Mahidol University International College (MUIC), emphasised the significance of this achievement, stating, "These accreditations not only affirm the current strengths of the College but also serve as a roadmap for continuous curriculum development. They reaffirm our commitment to providing students with international skills, knowledge, and experiences, equipping them for success in an ever-changing world."
At the Accreditation Showcase, there were panel discussions featuring program directors from various disciplines at MUIC, highlighting the outcomes and benefits of accreditation for students and alumni, particularly in terms of increased employment opportunities and the international recognition of their degrees.
Regarding future plans for the accreditation process that will drive MUIC's operations, Prof. Chulathida Chomchai, M.D., remarked, "Accreditation serves as a framework for continuous development, requiring us to modernise our curricula to meet student needs, prioritise faculty development, and expand global collaborations to ensure that we remain leaders in the field of education."
Another highlight of the event that captured everyone's attention was the presentation of success stories from distinguished MUIC alumni. These included Khun Pobek Pornpongmetta, a Business Administration alumnus who is now a news anchor for MONO29, a TV host, and a special lecturer, and Khun Pattamon Mekavarakul, an alumna of the Travel and Service Business Entrepreneurship program, who currently holds the position of Vice President at Cape Dara Resort Pattaya and other leading businesses. Additionally, several alumni from various fields who have achieved success and gained prominence in their respective industries were featured.
The event concluded with a showcase of the accreditation achievements. Before the event ended, MUIC provided an opportunity for esteemed guests, faculty members, and the media to exchange opinions and discuss the significance of this success for the MUIC community and society as a whole.
