The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has partnered with Bayer Thai Co., Ltd. to host the "Healthy Up! Run 2024," a health-focused event scheduled for December 22, 2024, at Benchakitti Park in Bangkok. Organised in honour of His Majesty the King’s 6th cycle birthday, the initiative aims to inspire the public to prioritise health and well-being through an engaging walk-run event and educational discussions. It also aligns with Bangkok’s 20-year development plan to establish a “Healthy City” and Bayer’s mission of “Health for All, Hunger for None.”

The event was inaugurated by Dr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok, and Ms. Likki-Lee Pitzen, Head of the Department of Culture Section and Press at the Embassy of Germany, who highlighted the importance of health initiatives in fostering community well-being. Also present were Mr. Bradley Williams, Managing Director of Bayer Thai Co., Ltd., and key figures such as Dr. Sunthorn Sunthornchart, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the BMA, Dr. Lertlak Leelaruengsang, Director of the Medical Service Department at the BMA, Mr. Thai Peng Mak, Country Division Head of Bayer Consumer Health, and Mr. Weraphon Charoenpanit, Country Commercial Lead of Bayer Crop Science. Distinguished guests, executives, and participants joined in celebrating this meaningful occasion.

As part of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the BMA and Bayer Thai Co., Ltd., the event featured a "Healthy Up! Talk" session focused on abdominal pain and endometriosis. Esteemed medical professionals, including Dr. Sawitree Suvikrom of Charoenkrung Pracharak Hospital and Dr. Paneeya Sutabutra, Country Medical Director of Bayer Thai Co., Ltd., led the discussion. They emphasised the importance of early diagnosis and timely treatment for endometriosis while educating attendees about the condition.

Bangkok’s recent recognition as a Healthy City by the World Health Organization (WHO), alongside 4 other cities in Thailand and 11 in Southeast Asia, reinforces its commitment to fostering an environment that promotes health, community management, and responsive public health services, particularly for vulnerable groups.

Participants at the "Healthy Up! Run 2024" gained valuable insights and practical tips on maintaining a healthy lifestyle, making it a truly enriching experience for all.
