The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) is rolling out extended Red Line operation hours and festive celebrations to enhance passenger experiences during the New Year holiday. Under the leadership of Surapong Piyachote, Deputy Minister of Transport, the Ministry of Transport is implementing measures to ensure safety, convenience, and seamless connectivity across its networks as people travel to celebrate the year-end festival.

From 31 December 2024, Red Line trains will operate until 2 a.m., offering suburban commuters and all passengers extended convenience. Suthep Panpeng, Director-General of SRT Electrified Train (SRTET), reaffirmed the organisation's commitment to the Ministry's policies by providing enhanced services and festive cheer.

To mark the holiday season, 2,568 Red Line mugs will be gifted to passengers on 25 December 2024 at all stations. Adding to the festive atmosphere, influencers dressed as Santa will greet commuters while idol bands perform Christmas carols at various stations. On 1 January 2025, passengers will also receive 2,568 Red Line herbal inhalers, available at ticket booths from 5:30 a.m. until midnight, while supplies last.

In a move to delight pet owners, SRTET will introduce a Pet-Friendly Train Weekend Service from 4 January 2025. This exclusive campaign allows passengers to bring their pets on board during Saturdays and Sundays, subject to specific terms and conditions.

Safety remains a top priority, with enhanced security measures in place at all Red Line stations. Trained personnel, including security guards, police officers, and K9 units, will patrol high-risk areas. In addition, CCTV surveillance and handheld transceiver controls will be utilised to ensure passenger safety and provide immediate response in emergencies.

SRTET also emphasised its commitment to advancing transportation standards, service quality, and social responsibility. The organisation aims to connect suburban communities with a network that prioritises speed, convenience, and safety, contributing to a better quality of life for residents.
