This year’s festival will span seven key creative districts across Bangkok—Charoenkrung-Talat Noi, Yaowarat-Song Wat, Pak Khlong Talad, Phra Nakhon, Khaosan-Bang Lamphu, Bang Pho, and Hua Lamphong—each with its own unique identity and programmes. The event is expected to attract over 300,000 visitors, generating more than 500 million baht in economic value.

Dr. Surapong Suebwonglee, Chairman of the National Soft Power Development Committee, highlighted the festival’s pivotal role in strengthening Thailand’s creative economy and elevating Thai soft power on the global stage.

“This is more than a festival; it’s a platform that connects creative industries with economic growth,” he said. “Our focus is on unlocking opportunities in sectors such as food, film, fashion, music, and gaming, driving economic growth and cultural influence both domestically and internationally.”

Mr. Sanon Wangsrangboon, Deputy Governor of Bangkok, added that Bangkok Design Week plays a vital role in shaping Bangkok’s future as a UNESCO Creative City of Design. This year’s theme, “Design Up+Rising!”, reflects the collective power of creative collaboration in transforming urban spaces, improving quality of life, and fostering a more sustainable city.

“The festival transforms each district into a showcase of creativity-driven solutions, creating a connected Creative Ecosystem. From the Legacy Project revitalising Charoenkrung and Phra Nakhon, to Creative Clusters like Pak Khlong Talad and Bang Pho, we’re turning local heritage into modern economic opportunities,” said Mr. Sanon.
