Bangkok – April 2025 – In celebration of the Songkran Festival, Salathip Thai Restaurant at Shangri-La Bangkok presents a special Songkran Set Menu that highlights Khao Chae, a dish long associated with the summer months in Thailand.
This seasonal offering reflects a balance of tradition and flavour. Khao Chae, prepared with fragrant jasmine rice in cool jasmine-scented water, is paired with a selection of condiments such as deep-fried minced fish balls with shrimp paste, deep-fried shallots filled with crab meat, sweetened stir-fried radish made with palm sugar, and caramelised shredded beef.
The set menu also includes additional Thai dishes, such as spicy mixed vegetable soup with shrimp, deep-fried sea bass with tamarind sauce, tiger prawn in dried red curry, and Thai omelette with minced chicken and holy basil. The meal concludes with a choice of traditional Thai desserts, including Som Chun, a refreshing lychee and bitter orange dessert inspired by the poetry of King Rama II.
This Songkran Set Menu is available daily until 30 April 2025 and is priced at THB 2,589 nett per set. Diners are invited to enjoy this culinary experience in the restaurant’s Thai-style pavilions overlooking the Chao Phraya River.
