Well, I guess by now most of you have probably heard of or visited Asiatique_Bangkok's latest, greatest lifestyle development on the banks of the Chao Phraya River.
Since it's opening earlier in the year, tourists, expats and locals have flocked to the sprawling venue for food, drink, shopping, sightseeing, a look back in time, and the overall excitement which permeates the air.
Still riding the huge wave of interest of its inaugural year, Asiatique is currently in the midst of its first holiday season and there's a lot going on festive-wise from now until 13 January 2013.
The headline attraction these days is undoubtedly Asiatique Sky, a jaw-dropping 60-metre high Ferris wheel with 42 gondolas. I mean this baby is huge.
Asiatique Sky fits in perfectly with the Asiatique ethos and the views when you are up there are truly spectacular.
Ferris wheels are for people of all ages and if you have children they are really going to enjoy themselves on this.
It's quite affordable too_just Bt200 for adults (till 28 February) and Bt150 for children (under 120 cm). And get this: Thais and non-Thais pay the same price. What a great idea!
Yule tide blessings and New Year's cheer is everywhere you look, with seasonal decor and a forest of festive lights blanketing the entire complex. But the icing on the holiday spirit cake has to be the rocking Christmas tree (not a holiday tree) adorning the riverfront pier.
On the music and entertainment fronts, Asiatique is currently featuring a host of diverse of performances, activities and many musical genres, including live jazz performances at the Promenade Zone along the river.
For new culinary experiences, Riverfront International Dining brings a variety of tantalising tastes from all corners of the globe to one locale. For those who appreciate a fine wine or good beer from the best manufacturers around the world, Town Square Zone is the place to be.
In addition, for those who are looking for special and stylish gifts, you can choose from a wide range of goods, such as souvenirs, clothing and accessories, home decor, and the latest cutting edge gadgets. Also, in order to facilitate your shopping experience, the Asiatique Catalogue details all the products available throughout the premises.
Oh, and let me not forget to mention Asiatique Countdown 2013 on 31 December 2012, featuring Thai artists and a spectacular fireworks display in the middle of the Chao Phraya River.

Thailand or just head on down to Asiatique on Charoen Krung Road. There's even a free shuttle boat between the complex and the BTS SkyTrain's Taksin Bridge station so you may be spared from the Bangkok traffic which never seems to take a holiday.
